artistic heritage noir
My design philosophy, Artistic Heritage Noir, is a tribute to my generational Dutch ancestry and the timeless mastery of the Dutch Golden Age. I have long been captivated by how the Dutch Masters—most notably Johannes Vermeer—possessed the high-level skill of ‘capturing light,’ pulling brilliant lusters out of the deep, moody shadows. In my work, I translate this ‘Old World’ technique into wearable art; I use the contrast of ‘Noir’—the contrast of light & dark—to better illuminate the radiant inner spark of the women who wear my pieces. It is a whimsical, modern spin on classic elegance, designed to ensure that even in the shadows, your unique light remains the focal point.

The heart of my collection lies with the most dynamic organic gemstone in existence, the pearl. Much like us, a pearl forms layer upon layer over time, developing a brilliant luster through its unique journey. I believe that pearls, like people, grow through their experiences. It is those organic, unpredictable shapes and “flaws” that make them—and us—truly beautiful, refined, and more precious with time as we travel along life’s unpredictable path.
